A Dinosaur in the mail!

When I saw this Dinosaur picture on a museum leaflet a while back I knew I wanted to use it for some mail art. Seeing the latest Jurrasic Park movie last week reminded me to give it a go. I liked the idea of the Tyrannosaurus tearing up the envelope or breaking out of it, so I played around with this idea.

After some working out (and six ripped apart envelopes!) I came up with this. I tore open the front of the envelope and glued down the ripped edges. I used my grass gift wrapping paper to line the inside of the envelope. I glued the grass paper to the inside of the front part of the envelope so it can still be used to put a letter in. Finally, I positioned and glued down the Tyrannosaurus so it looks like it is coming out of the envelope.

What inspires your mail? A leaflet, a film? I would love to know in the comments section below.
